why UNC-Chapel Hill?

With strong support from UNC–Chapel Hill, The Nantucket Project introduced its Dialogue model in spring 2025, launching a groundbreaking course: Courageous Conversations: Israel and Palestine on Campus.

Through study, skills-building, dialogue, guest speakers, and a trip to the Middle East, 26 students not only transformed their own perspectives—they helped shift the culture of the campus itself. 

While the course focused on the conflict in the Middle East, its core lessons went far beyond that region. Students learned skills for navigating any difficult or controversial issue that can be applied to challenging conversations on campus, in business, and in life.

Our goal now is to share this Dialogue approach widely,

so it can take root on campuses everywhere.

From November 18-19 at UNC-Chapel Hill, Dialogue on Dialogue will bring together a carefully chosen group of leaders dedicated to transforming the culture of higher education.
